Common questions about our mentorship program

Who can apply to be a mentee?

Current MPSC students in their final two years of study and alumni who have graduated within the last five years are eligible to apply as mentees. The program is open to all fields of study and career interests.

What are the requirements to become a mentor?

Mentors must be MPSC alumni with at least five years of professional experience in their field. Mentors should be able to commit to the program duration and be willing to meet regularly with their mentees as per the program structure.

How much time commitment is required?

The time commitment varies by program but typically involves 1-2 hours per month for mentoring sessions plus occasional preparation time. Career and Academic Mentorship programs run for 3-6 months, while the Entrepreneurship program extends to 9 months.

How are mentors and mentees matched?

Our matching process considers several factors including industry/field of interest, career goals, specific skills sought, geographic location (for in-person meetings if desired), and personality compatibility. Both parties have the opportunity to provide input on their preferences.

Is there a fee to participate in the program?

There is no fee for mentors. For mentees, there is a nominal administrative fee of 500 BDT which helps support program operations. This fee can be waived based on financial need—please indicate this in your application if applicable.

Can international alumni participate?

Yes! Our program welcomes international participants. Mentoring sessions can be conducted virtually, making it possible for alumni around the world to contribute as mentors or participate as mentees. We have active mentors from North America, Europe, Australia, and across Asia.
